The only exhibition of washing techniques in the Czech Republic was derived from the unique collection of Svitavy’s museum, which includes 150 washing machines of various types. It comprises of more than just washing machines, but also tools and instruments which were commonly used for washing.
So come to Svitavy and learn about the history of an activity that is almost as old as man itself. Within the scope of the exhibition you will see washing machines, washboards made from various materials, washing and foaming plungers, several types of battledores, clothes wringer rollers and boiling pots. An essential part of the exhibition are photographs, original advertisements, pricelists, instructions for use and other written documents of technical character.
